Motorbike Suspension & Geometry Specialist in Galway

From the Paddock to the West of Ireland

Patrick Waters isn’t just a mechanic—he’s a rider, racer, designer, and someone who’s spent over 20 years immersed in motorbikes. With deep roots in race paddocks and professional engineering workshops, he combines practical hands-on experience with advanced technical know-how to optimise every motorcycle he tunes.

Today, he’s widely recognised as a leading motorbike suspension expert and geometry tuner in Galway, trusted by riders across the west of Ireland to provide custom setups that genuinely enhance performance and handling.

Whether you’re chasing lap times on the track or seeking a bike that feels perfectly balanced on Irish roads, Patrick’s mission remains clear: to help every rider get the most from their machine and deliver the ultimate riding experience—whatever that means for you.

Engineering Meets Racing

Patrick began his career with a degree in motorbike design from Kingston University, giving him a solid grounding in mechanical engineering and vehicle dynamics. He went on to work with Ford Motor Company, leading design teams and sharpening his skills in precision engineering and system optimisation.

But the draw of two wheels was always too strong.

While working full-time as an engineer, Patrick was racing motocross on weekends, learning firsthand how subtle setup changes could transform performance—and how important rider feedback was in getting it right.

That passion led him to shift careers entirely and go full throttle into the racing world.

Real Race Paddock Experience

Patrick has worked as a race mechanic across the UK and Ireland, including time in the British Superbike paddock, supporting teams and riders at the highest level. He’s been hands-on with machines in:

  • GP125 and ACU 600 Trophy Cup
  • British Superstock 1000
  • Triumph Tripe Challenge and NW200 road racing
  • Clive Padgett’s legendary race team
  • Supporting TT legend John McGuinness in 2008

These roles didn’t just demand technical accuracy—they required the ability to think fast, solve problems under pressure, and adapt each bike to the unique needs of the rider and the circuit.

Suspension Setup Built on Rider Feedback & Expert Feel

One of Patrick’s greatest strengths as a motorbike suspension & geometry specialist in Galway is his ability to translate rider feedback into tangible improvements. He has an instinctive feel for what a bike is doing—and what it should be doing instead. Whether it’s adjusting preload for road stability or rebalancing geometry for sharper turn-in, Patrick listens to the rider, observes the machine, and makes the changes that matter most.

Serving Galway & Beyond: Motorbike Suspension & Servicing

Today, from his workshop in Craughwell, Patrick offers motorbike suspension setup, geometry optimisation, and motorbike servicing to riders across Galway, Mayo, Limerick, and Sligo.

He works with: road racers, road riders, track day enthusiasts, adventure bikers, commuters and new riders looking for comfort and confidence.

Unlike some tuning specialists, Patrick encourages every rider to take an active role in their setup. You’ll leave knowing what was adjusted, why it matters, and how you can tweak things in future.
